On July 17, 2017, Gordon & Rees Partner Sean Flynn will participate in a Round Table concerning the Supreme Court's decision in Spokeo, Inc. v. Robins at The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals' (ACC) 2017 Annual Convention in Seattle, Washington. The presentation is titled "Have We Spoken About Spokeo?" and is scheduled from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
As a co-presenter, Mr. Flynn will discuss the importance of the Spokeo case relative to the Debt and Credit industry's litigation environment. The panel will be discussing the divergent and sometimes conflicting application of the Spokeo ruling in trial courts around the country, and whether the ruling signals a change in case law or serves as a reminder of the pleading requirements in federal actions. The panel will also discuss how to craft arguments that will best enable attorneys and their clients to benefit from the ruling.
