Jan Buddingh Featured Speaker on Accessibility Compliance in the Restaurant Industry

On June 12, San Diego Senior Counsel Jan Buddingh will provide insight for restaurant owners, operators and customers on current accessibility compliance issues during a presentation at the California Commission on Disability Access (CCDA) Southern California Community Gathering: ADA Access in the Restaurant Industry.

Buddingh will participate in a panel discussion of "Restaurant Accessibility Compliance Information and Resources" and will close with answering questions from attendees. The event will also include other presentations for both restaurants and people with disabilities regarding access issues pertinent to restaurants.

Other featured presenters include Steve Blake, Blake Law Firm of San Diego; Debbie Wong, Division of the State Architect; Medhi Shadyab, Local Building Official for the City of San Diego; Janae R. Davis, California Pollution Control Financing Authority; Carla Holland, South San Diego Small Business Development Center; Lillibeth Navarro, Founder and Director of CALIF; Tiffany Potter, Commissioner of CCDA; and Jacqueline Jackson, Council Member of State Independent Living Council.

The CCDA hosts this community gathering half-day event in collaboration with the City of San Diego for members of the restaurant industry, state and local government, and consumers to learn about and discuss issues related to disability access. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Mission Valley Library in San Diego, California.

Jan Buddingh has more than 20 years of experience litigating a wide variety of civil cases that include arguing both writ petitions and appeals. He has vast experience litigating discrimination cases, including ADA public access lawsuits. He is frequently a guest speaker on ADA compliance issues.
