Partner Katie Benton is Featured Panelist at 28th Annual Spring ABA Toxic Tort & Environmental Law Meeting

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Los Angeles Partner Katie Benton will be a featured panelist at the American Bar Association's 28th Annual Spring CLE Meeting "Hot Topics in Toxic Tort & Environmental Law" on April 4-6, 2019 at the Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, California.

Benton will join a moderated four-person panel of experienced attorneys and toxicologists to present "Looking into the Chrysotile Ball, The future of Asbestos Litigation," on Friday, April 5 from 8 to 9 a.m. This panel will delve into the constantly changing landscape of asbestos litigation which is robust as ever with thousands of new claims filed each year. This group will examine the fact that cases with traditional direct exposure to workers are becoming less frequent as indirect and take-home fact patterns are now commonplace. They will also discuss cases that are now front and center and making headlines such as talc miners and manufacturers of talc products and why the science of genetics is now offering new defenses.

Joining Benton as a panelist are Ania Urban of Cardno ChemRisk, Jim Kramer of Simmons Hanly Conroy and Erin Voyik of RiverStone. Jason Botticelli of Goldberg Segalla will be the moderator.
