    Benjamin R. Kinney is an Associate in the Chicago office of Gordon & Rees and is a member of the Commercial Litigation, Consumer Protection Litigation, Cyber, Privacy & Data Security, and Cannabis Law practice groups. He has successfully represented clients in matters dealing with breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, consumer litigation, tort, and real estate. A lawyer who can speak the law in plain language, Mr. Kinney works to resolve his clients’ disputes in an efficient, practical manner that avoids unnecessary litigation and ultimately results in cost savings.

    In 2013, Mr. Kinney developed a novel litigation strategy to overcome contractual exculpation clauses. The strategy has been the subject of law review articles and has been featured on TechCrunch, CNET, and AbovetheLaw. Recently, Mr. Kinney sat as a panelist, for Yale Law School’s Internet Facilitated Justice forum.

    Mr. Kinney was previously an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, coaching the Trial Advocacy competition team.
