    Joseph Salvo is a partner in the GRSM New York office. His practice focuses on privacy/data security and technology litigation where he is the Co-Chair of the firm’s Technology Litigation group, as well as professional liability defense and complex commercial and product liability litigation. Joseph’s practice involves defending a broad range of clients including insurance agents and brokers, attorneys, accountants, architects, engineers, directors and officers of both large and small businesses, health care facilities, manufacturers, distributers and employers against claims of civil liability in New York’s state and federal courts. Joseph also has significant experience arguing appeals on behalf of clients in New York’s Appellate Divisions and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

    Before joining GRSM, Joseph was a pre-trial and trial attorney with the Office of the Corporation Counsel, defending the City of New York in civil law suits. In connection with his representation of the City of New York, Joseph litigated extensively and successfully by achieving multiple defense verdicts and favorable resolutions of claims prior to reaching a verdict. Joseph’s past trial experience with the Office of the Corporation Counsel makes him a unique addition to the GRSM team.

    Prior to attending law school, Joseph served as an aide and speechwriter to New York State Senator, Thomas P. Morahan.

    • Obtained a pre-answer dismissal on behalf of their clients, a Manhattan law firm and its partners, in a lawsuit arising out of the firm’s representation of a hedge fund in which the plaintiffs alleged several causes of action including: (1) violation of Section 10(b) of the Exchange Act [15 U.S.C. § 78j(b)] and Rule 10-b-5 promulgated thereunder; (2) fraud; (3) aiding and abetting fraud; (4) civil conspiracy to commit fraud; (5) negligent misrepresentation; and (6) negligence.

    • Obtained a pre-answer dismissal on behalf of their clients, a New York City law firm and its managing partner, in a lawsuit in which the plaintiff’s alleged legal malpractice arising out of representation before the New York State Workers' Compensation Board and the plaintiff's potential suit against a former employer.
