    Katherine P. Vilchez is a Partner in the San Francisco office of GRSM and is a member of the Tort & Product Liability practice group. She has over two decades of experience in civil litigation including products liability, toxic tort, personal injury defense, insurance coverage, construction defect litigation, real estate and business litigation, and public entity defense. Since 2017, her practice has focused on defense of automobile manufacturers in product liability cases including, but not limited to, managing the complex litigation of over a hundred cases addressing California's Lemon Law statutes, also known as, the Song-Beverly Act.  Starting in 2004, her practice has focused primarily on the defense of clients in the tort and products liability arenas, including the complete handling and management of case files for many national clients. Her experience includes the examination of lay and expert witnesses, all phases of discovery, law and motion practice, oral arguments at court hearings, settlement conferences and negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation. She is particularly skilled in witness examination in high stakes cases and the creation and drafting of multifaceted pivotal motions in both Federal and state court.

    Katherine's clients have included automobile manufacturers, automotive parts manufacturers and suppliers, large general contractors and subcontractors, a glass furnace subcontractor, products suppliers, premises owners (oil companies), boiler manufacturers, large insurance companies, several public-school districts and a public transportation entity.
