    Peter Choi is a Partner in the Los Angeles office of GRSM and is a member of the Employment Law practice group. Peter has experience in representing employers in all aspects of state and federal employment matters, including class actions and representative actions for wage and hour violations. He has extensive experience in representing employers of all sizes, spanning a range of industries, including the hospitality, security guard and transportation industries. Peter also has experience litigating large scale coordinated actions, including litigating a coordinated action against an international hotel company for wage and hour violations. 

    Peter’s employment practice also includes defending clients against claims of discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation and harassment, in addition to counseling on wage and hour compliance. 

    Prior to joining GRSM, Peter worked as a plaintiff’s attorney for over a decade, during which he litigated and worked to secure multiple seven and eight figure settlements on behalf of his clients, including in cases which were appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. He has also prepared appeals and writs in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Supreme Court. Peter’s experience as a prior plaintiff’s attorney also gives him a unique perspective, which he uses to his advantage to proactively create a defense strategy tailored to the unique needs of each case that he handles.

  • Representative Experience
    • Obtained a seven figure settlement in a putative class action wage and hour action shortly after taking the defendant employer’s deposition, where the previous offer to settle was to settle on an individual basis.
    • Litigated and worked to secure a significant eight figure class action settlement on behalf of a group of non-exempt security guards for wage and hour violations.
    • Litigated and worked to secure a mid-six figure settlement in a disputed liability personal injury case where the defendant’s initial offer was to settle for only fifteen thousand dollars.
    • Obtained a preliminary injunction enjoining an imminent trustee sale of a personal residence without being required to post bond.
    • Obtained a hung jury on behalf of a criminal defendant in a D.U.I. case where the defendant’s blood alcohol concentration was a .16.
    • Worked to secure multiple seven and eight figure settlements.
