    Steve Ronk is a trial Partner and practice group leader in GRSM’s Los Angeles office. He has an active practice focusing on labor and employment litigation and disputes in the civil courts, before administrative agencies, and in arbitration proceedings. Stephen’s practice includes counseling organizations on employment practices and defending them in lawsuits involving all types of employment disputes including wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, employment agreements, wage and hour class actions, and other related issues.

    Stephen is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and has tried numerous cases to verdict and has successfully handled civil appeals before the California and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also has extensive experience in the defense of other civil litigation matters including products liability. This experience includes defending clients in toxic exposure actions as well as the defense of manufacturers of a variety of products including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, stain products, cosmetics and helicopters. Stephen has also served as a pro bono prosecutor with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.

    Representative Experience

    Examples of Mr. Ronk’s recent experience includes the following:

    • Obtained numerous defense verdicts on behalf of employers in matters involving, age, gender, marital status, racial, religious and disability discrimination. 
    • Obtained a defense verdict on behalf of an employer against claims of employee privacy violation.
    • Obtained a defense verdict in a wrongful death action resulting from a helicopter accident with claims that the accident occurred due to a defect in the helicopter’s drive system.
    • Secured a complete defense verdict in a civil rights lawsuit against claims of assault, battery, and civil rights violations against an officer and his employer. 
    • Defended employers against wrongful termination claims involving employee whistle-blowing activities.
    • Defended employer against sexual harassment and labor code violation claims.
