February 2015

The February 2015 edition of DRI's national magazine, For the Defense, includes an article authored by Gordon & Rees partners Leon Silver and Andy Castricone and associate Christina Vander Werf. The article, titled Don't Be A Plaintiff's Lawyer's Next Victim: Avoiding the Pitfalls of Data Breach Litigation, deconstructs prior plaintiff strategies and how they have evolved to overcome defense favorable court rulings and explores the latest trends in class action litigation against companies that have had their customer data compromised. The authors also offer practical advice on mitigating the companies' losses as a result of a compromise incident.

Silver is a partner in the Phoenix office and serves as Co-Chair of DRI's Cybersecurity SLG. Castricone is the Privacy & Data Security Practice Group Chair and a partner in the San Francisco office. Vander Werf practices in southern California and Arizona. To read the full article, click here.
