Aviation Litigation Partner Catherine Slavin will be a featured speaker at the 25th Annual National Institute on Aviation Litigation on June 13, 2019 in New York. Slavin will join two other speakers and a moderator in a panel discussion on "Federal Preemption: Conflict in the Field?"
Slavin's panel will discuss federal preemption of aircraft operation, design and manufacturing, and passenger services, among other matters that courts across the country have addressed during the past quarter-century. The panel will set forth differing views on where the boundaries of express, field, and conflict preemption currently lie, 20 years after Abdullah v. American Airlines, and where the panel sees those boundaries in the future.
Joining Slavin on the panel are attorneys Jeffrey J. Ellis of Clyde & Co. and Justin T. Green of Kreindler & Kreindler. Attorney B. Keith Williams of Lannon & Williams will be the moderator.
