    Cheney Moss is an attorney in the Portland office of GRSM and actively practices in Oregon and Washington. Cheney’s practice focuses on complex litigation, including commercial litigation, professional defense and securities. In his practice, Cheney has represented individuals, business and non-profits within all stages of civil litigation, arbitration and administrative proceedings.

    Prior to joining GRSM, Cheney practiced for several years at other Portland law firms. He has clerked at state appellate courts in both Oregon and New Jersey. During law school, Cheney was an extern at the New York Stock Exchange’s Division of Enforcement, which is now part of FINRA. Prior to entering law school, Cheney worked for several years in the financial industry, including five years at Columbia Mutual Funds.

  • Representative Experience
    • Successfully defended non-profit organization in multiple matters in Pierce County, Washington, obtaining dismissal on summary judgment in one matter and voluntary dismissals of all claims in seven additional matters.

    • Obtained Rule 12 dismissal of Title VII employment discrimination claims against a church based on Ministerial Exception under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
