David P. Cañas is a commercial litigator who represents clients in a wide variety of business disputes, including contract disputes, non-compete and non-solicitation issues, business torts and fraud, and real estate and construction disputes. He also represents clients in bankruptcies as corporate debtors’ counsel and creditors’ counsel.
David's role in a dispute is to take charge and stay ahead of the other side. He helps his clients stay informed and focused throughout the legal proceedings. David also works with his clients to resolve disputes before litigation or bankruptcy becomes necessary.
Before beginning his practice, David served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Hewitt P. Tomlin, Jr., and David R. Farmer on the Tennessee Court of Appeals in Jackson, Tennessee.
He is an avid runner and has run the Boston Marathon several times.
