John MacGowan is an Associate in the Philadelphia office of GRSM. John primarily focuses his practice in complex commercial litigation as well as transactional and bankruptcy related matters. He has counseled established businesses regarding the sale and disposition of assets and has drafted a variety of transactional documents including membership interest and asset purchase agreements. John is also frequently retained to represent commercial clients in business reorganizations under both Chapter 11 and Chapter 11 (sub-chapter v) of the Bankruptcy Code.
During law school, John served as a term law clerk to the Honorable Vincent F. Papalia in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey, where he performed extensive legal research and drafted a number of opinions in adversary proceedings and contested matters.
John is a Pennsylvania native and currently resides in Lower Merion Township with his wife and two children. He was raised in Bucks County.
