    Katie Pakler is an Associate in the Pittsburgh office of GRSM. She focuses her practice on health care and litigation.  Following law school, Katie began her legal career as in-house legal and legislative specialist for a non-profit organ procurement organization.  She worked closely with federal, state and local legislators, and strategized to pass vital legislation in support of organ and tissue donation. She also ensured created and implemented federal and state compliant standards of practice, contracts, and protocols, for statewide healthcare institutions.

    Katie also worked as an associate at a boutique health care law firm. Her practice involved developing educational programs involving new and upcoming health care trends, as well as collaborating with hospital systems throughout the country to develop peer review programs, conflict resolution strategies, and medical staff governing documents.

    Katie’s courtroom experience began in the Allegheny County Family Division, while working for a local non-profit organization advocating for the best interests of children under the supervision of the Office of Children, Youth and Families.

    Most recently, Katie spent a significant period in insurance defense litigation, handling a variety of cases, including but not limited to, claims involving medical malpractice, construction, products liability, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and personal injury.
