Kristen A. Yamamoto is Senior Counsel with GRSM and has over 13 years of criminal and civil litigation experience. Prior to joining GRSM, Kristen was a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney with the City and County of Honolulu for 10 years. Kristen has tried over 20 jury trials, including numerous high level homicide, sexual assault and domestic violence cases. Most recently Kristen served as a supervisor in the Family Prosecution Division. For her work as a prosecutor, Kristen was awarded the 2022 Top Cop Hawaii and named the 2023 Outstanding Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the City and County of Honolulu.
Kristen was also an associate at a Honolulu civil litigation law firm, where she focused on construction litigation, employment law, and insurance defense. Kristen also clerked for the Honorable Randal K.O. Lee (ret.) in the First Circuit Court of Hawaii.
Kristen graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and minor in International Relations. Kristen then returned home to Hawaii and attended the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she graduated cum laude and was a member of the University of Hawaii Law Review.
