Luca J. Giovine

Luca Giovine represents healthcare businesses and medical professionals in medical malpractice disputes. He also represents commercial entities and insurance companies on various civil litigation matters, including commercial litigation and personal injury defense.

Luca keeps his clients informed throughout the litigation process. He works closely with them to meet their goals while providing dynamic and cost-effective representation.

During law school, Luca worked at the Family Law Project in Madison. He also assisted with personal injury disputes and tenant and landlord matters while working with a Beverly Hills-based tenant rights firm. Luca further worked as a research assistant for the National Institute of Health (NIH) on the HEALthy Brain and Child Development Study. Luca’s background further includes working as a tax intern for one of the "Big Four" accounting firms.

• Assisted in the successful defense of an emergency medicine physician in a medical malpractice claim for $9.5 million. The jury verdict was based upon a denial of any deviation from acceptable standards of care and a denial of proximate cause.
• Argued in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals on a direct appeal for a criminal matter in the Southern District of Indiana based on a Batson violation and insufficient evidence.
• Obtained summary judgment in favor of a client hospital and argued lack of agency from a hospital employee's HIPAA violation.
