    Margaret M. Drugan is a Partner in the Los Angeles office. She is a member of the Insurance Group.

    Margaret’s experience includes representing insurance companies against claims for breach of contract, bad faith, fraud and other torts on matters ranging from property losses, intellectual property infringement and large commercial liability claims. Margaret handles cases in all phases of discovery, pre-trial and trial in both state and federal courts. She also counsels clients on issues involving insurance coverage on both property and liability claims.

    • Representation of national and international insurers in litigation involving claims related to water damage, mold, fire (including smoke and ash claims), earthquake, theft, vandalism.
    • Representation of national and international insurers on coverage issues involving first party property damage claims including preparation of coverage opinions and Examinations Under Oath.

    Commercial General Liability Insurance

    • Representation of national and international insurers in litigation involving claims related to construction defects, bodily injury, property damage, and advertising and personal injury.

    Boiler & Machinery Insurance

    • Representation of national and international boiler & machinery insurers in litigation involving property damages and business interruption claims.

    Workers’ Compensation Insurance

    • Representation of national insurer in litigation involving breach of contract and bad faith allegations for payment of workers’ compensation claims and its related effect on the insured’s experience modification.
    • Representation of national insurer in litigation involving breach of contract, bad faith, fraud and intentional interference with economic advantage involving a Professional Employers Organization and the manipulation of payroll and employees in order to under report payroll to reduce premium.

    • Representation of international excess insurer on issues involving funding settlement of underlying litigation against insured director and officers when primary insurer does not pay its policy limits.
