Suzanne Walker is Assistant Managing Partner in the firm’s Raleigh office. She focuses her practice in the areas of insurance coverage, health care, and construction. She has nearly fifteen years of experience in all aspects of litigation and handles matters in a variety of state, federal and appellate courts. She frequently represents clients before regulatory and licensing boards throughout North Carolina. Suzane has been recognized by Business North Carolina as Legal Elite in litigation and as a Legal Elite rising star.
Insurance
Prior to joining GRSM, she worked for two regional insurance defense firms where she exclusively handled matters on behalf of insurance companies. She defends insurance companies in both third-party and first-party coverage disputes, as well as in bad faith litigation in state and federal courts. She also provides carriers with coverage analysis and counsel in non-litigation matters.
Health Care
Suzanne routinely defends malpractice claims against health care providers and long-term care facilities in personal injury, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death claims. In addition, she represents a variety of professionals before licensing boards throughout North Carolina, including medical, dental, nursing and all mental health boards. She also has experience representing clients involved in HIPAA compliance complaints before the Office of Civil Rights and defending health care providers against Section 1983 deliberate indifference and Bivens claims.
Construction
Her construction practice focuses on defending architects, engineers, and other design professionals in construction defect and delay claims. She also provides advice and counsel to her construction clients and aids in contract interpretation.
