    Rachel L. Wise is Senior Counsel in the Las Vegas office.

    Rachel is a strong advocate for her clients and is experienced in all phases of complex civil litigation such as court appearances, depositions, preparing well-reasoned legal briefings, and advising her clients through the litigation process. Her practice experience ranges from commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, commercial property matters to creditors rights and water law. Rachel also has an in-depth understanding of the realities of commercial litigation. If the best course of action is to settle a case, she is an effective negotiator helping clients reach the best possible outcome.

    Commerical Litigation

    • Obtained case canceling sanctions based on the opposing party’s discovery violations, resulting in an award of attorneys’ fees
    • Prevailed in a water-abandonment matter before the district court, which the Supreme Court later upheld
    • Obtained dismissal for failure to state a claim against a business owner in his individual capacity
    • Negotiate a settlement that was 97% less than the initial demand of $950,000 in a medical malpractice matter
    • Successfully obtained a preliminary injunction that enjoined a state agency from curtailing fifty percent of water rights in two major agricultural basins in northern Nevada
    • Prevailed in summary judgment on a breach of fiduciary duty claim alleged against a purported corporate officer
    • Successfully defended against secured lender’s attachment of the client’s assets
    • Reversed a fraudulent transfer and clawed back retirement funds that the client’s investor misappropriated
    • Obtained dismissal for lack of jurisdiction in a constructive trust matter

    Securities Litigation

    • Successfully represented a special litigation committee of a public corporation regarding claims asserted by a derivative plaintiff, which the Supreme Court later upheld
