    Summerly Kulik represents both individuals and business entities in general commercial litigation and oil and gas transactional matters. Summerly handles a wide range of disputes for oil and gas operators including E&P and mid-stream clients, as well as product manufacturers, healthcare corporations and insurers among others. She has litigated and defended commercial contract claims, product liability actions and oil and gas disputes in both state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations. Summerly maintains an active practice representing and counseling clients in all aspects of commercial and civil litigation, including discovery, motions practice, hearings, settlement negotiations, arbitrations and trials. Summerly has also managed a wide range of litigation disputes involving large scale discovery from document retention through arbitration and/or trial.

    A native of Washington, Pennsylvania, Summerly also focuses on issues relating to oil and gas transactional matters, and is well versed in real estate title matters, including drafting certified title opinions and managing due diligence projects for large scale oil and gas acquisitions in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the firm, Summerly worked in the energy group of a regional law firm and acted as counsel on several large-scale construction disputes on power generation projects.

    • Authored numerous certified title opinions for various national oil and gas operators.
    • Counseled clients on numerous complex real estate and energy law issues, including: ownership of mineral, oil and gas underlying roads, waterways, and railroads; complex historical inheritance and estate issues affecting current title of the subject property, as well as complex analysis of ambiguous conveyances, legal descriptions, and exceptions and reservations; effects of Mortgage foreclosure on ownership of oil and gas interests, scope, nature and permissible use of easements.
    • Managed due diligence review and team, and aided in the preparation of acquisition documents for multi-million-dollar oil and gas asset purchases, including review of title, property rights, liability and negotiation of contract terms.
    • Successfully defended a medical device manufacturer in a wrongful death lawsuit.
