    Talia L. Delanoy is the Assistant Managing Partner in the Sacramento office of GRSM and is a member of the Employment Law practice group. She is an experienced litigator with a strong reputation in the community amongst local lawyers, mediators and judges. Talia’s goal is to efficiently and accurately assess the potential risk in each case early and provide her clients with a goal-oriented plan, including focused discovery and cost-effective investigation. She provides personal attention to each of her clients. Talia is ideally located to handle matters from Central California to the Oregon border. She has experience with all phases of litigation, including trial.

    In her labor and employment practice, Talia defends employers against claims of wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and breach of contract. She practices in both state and federal courts and before administrative entities and has extensive experience with claims brought pursuant to the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA). Talia also defends employers against claimed wage and hour violations such as failure to provide meal and rest breaks, failure to pay minimum wage, and failure to pay overtime or earned vacation. In addition, she has experience evaluating claims brought under the Private Attorney General Act (PAGA), which if properly defended, can save employers from costly penalties. Talia handles class action litigation in all areas of employment law. Talia has experience defending retail chains, construction industry clients, non-profit organizations, long term care and skilled nursing facilities, commercial transportation companies and restaurants, among others. Focused on helping employers avoid litigation, Talia counsels her clients about compliance with the law and best practices with progressive discipline, termination and wage and hour issues.

    In her product and general liability practice, Talia has successfully defended individuals, retailers, product manufacturers, trucking companies, contractors, medical transportation providers and other businesses against cases involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death. Talia has extensive experience with products liability cases involving auto manufacturers, aviation and tool manufacturers. Talia has defended long term care and skilled nursing facilities against claims of personal battery and elder abuse and has experience with claims against the massage industry. Talia defends homeowners and businesses large and small against claims related to premises liability, professional liability, construction accidents, property disputes and property damage matters.

    • Achieved complete defense award at arbitration in favor of national retail employer on claims of race harassment and discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination and intentional infliction of emotional distress
    • Secured summary judgment for a national retail employer on claims of harassment, hostile work environment, violation of ERISA and wrongful termination
    • Obtained a complete defense verdict on behalf of a national loan servicer following a jury trial for breach of contract, fraud, negligent and intentional misrepresentation and negligence related to an alleged failure to modify a home loan
    • Obtained a dismissal with prejudice on a high exposure products liability case involving the installation of a cable median barrier on a heavily travelled highway, where a drunk driver penetrated the barrier two years after installation and the project had been released by the highway authority
    • Secured summary judgment for a national loan servicer on plaintiff’s claims of negligence, wrongful foreclosure, cancellation of instrument, quiet title and violation of the Homeowner’s Bill of Rights, which was affirmed by the 1st District Court of Appeal
    • Secured summary judgment for a banking client on claims of violations of the Fair Housing Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Civil Rights Act
    • Secured summary judgment with waiver of appeal for homeowner sued by dog bite victim who sustained serious injuries. Successfully argued that homeowner had no duty to raise her fence to protect against neighbor’s pit bull.
    • Obtained dismissal of wrongful death suit arising out of motor vehicle accident
    • Obtained dismissal for a California trucking company for a nominal settlement following notice of a wrongful death suit
    • In a multimillion-dollar case arising from death of agricultural pilot, obtained dismissal of plaintiffs’ strict liability and punitive damages claims, following service of summary judgment motion on plaintiffs
    • Obtained dismissal following demurrer for claims involving landlord-tenant violations
