    Virginia Squitieri is Co-Managing Partner of the New York and Long Island offices. She is a national litigation attorney with broad experience in toxic tort, product liability, general liability and environmental litigation matters. Virginia has extensive experience in handling the defense of complex matters including toxic exposure claims, sick building claims; general liability and premises liability claims including elevator and escalator defense.  Virginia serves as national, coordinating and/or local counsel for numerous companies, including Fortune 500 and privately held corporations.

    Virginia is involved in the liability, expert and medical issues and defenses associated with these cases. Virginia has litigated matters relating to environmental exposures in various contexts, including but not limited to, chemical plants, commercial plants, and buildings, powerhouses, refineries, residences, schools, shipyards and steel mills.

    Virginia has prepared dozens of asbestos-related lawsuits for trial, trying one case to a defense verdict. Her insight into legacy issues makes her a valued adviser on current and emerging toxic tort issues. Virginia has access to the most respected defense experts in various fields, including epidemiology, pathology, industrial hygiene and pulmonary medicine. She is experienced in litigating state-of-the-art issues relating to knowledge in the medical and scientific communities.

    Prior to joining GRSM, Virginia was a partner in a national law firm, leading its Toxic Tort, Environmental & Energy Practice in New York. In 2016, Virginia and her partner, Erik DiMarco, accepted an invitation to join GRSM, bringing along numerous clients as well their team of associates, paralegals and support staff.

  • Representative Experience
    • Obtained summary judgment in a hotly contested asbestos action one week before trial in Syracuse, New York. The case involved a 40 year old plaintiff with a $7.5 lost earnings claim, who passed away from mesothelioma.
    • Obtained summary judgment in a Middlesex County, New Jersey asbestos case.
    • Prevailed in a toxic tort jury trial in New York County, in which the plaintiff alleged that her deceased husband’s lung cancer was caused by her husband’s work with and/or around floor tiles.
