    William C. Bennett is Senior Counsel in the Charleston office of GRSM. The primary focus of William’s practice is in the area of Commercial Litigation. He has significant experience in civil defense litigation, including representing insurance companies in lawsuits alleging bad faith and corporate negligence.

    William possesses excellent legal research and writing skills. Prior to joining the firm, William worked as an independent contractor for five years providing legal research and writing services. He has substantial experience drafting appellate briefs, memorandums of law, and other legal briefs covering a variety of legal issues.

    From 2009 through 2015, William had his own law practice in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, which consisted primarily of Family Law litigation and Criminal Defense. During his career, he also had the honor of being appointed as a guardian ad litem for children and incapacitated adults in Family Court proceedings.

    The opportunity to meet and effectively counsel so many different types of clients in very difficult circumstances has enriched William's ability to meet the individual needs of his clients. Over the course of his career, he has developed very strong oral and written communication skills that are invaluable in the attorney-client relationship. William’s experience as an attorney also includes real estate transactions, estate planning, and personal injury litigation.
