Gordon & Rees partner Richard P. Sybert has been certified as a specialist in Franchise & Distribution Law by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. Sybert is Chair of the Firm’s Intellectual Property practice group, with a national and international practice representing major U.S. and foreign businesses in complex litigation and arbitration in the areas of contracts; commercial and distribution law including licensing, franchising, unfair competition and antitrust; and intellectual property. He is also a certified commercial arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association.
Sybert is the second Gordon & Rees lawyer to be certified as a franchise and distribution law specialist in California, of only 50 in the entire state. The Gordon & Rees Franchise Practice consists of more than 40 lawyers, handling all aspects of representation for a comprehensive range of businesses. The Group is led by Los Angeles partner Calvin Davis, who is also certified and sits on the California State Bar Franchise Law Committee, and by partner Ron Giller in the Firm’s New Jersey office. Collectively these specialists provide national coverage in all areas of franchise, distribution, and commercial law.
