Gordon & Rees Hosts Legal Bootcamp for USC Veterans Transition Program

March 2020

Los Angeles Partner Brenda Radmacher and associate Alex Loh spearheaded a “Legal Bootcamp” day for the USC Marshall School Business program “With Your Shield, A McMorrow Veterans Initiative.” The program is designed for Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Veterans including Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman (SWCC), support personnel, and their families.

On Friday, February 28, 2020, the Gordon & Rees Los Angeles office along with San Diego partner Charles Berwanger, Los Angeles associate Christopher White, and San Francisco of counsel David Heckadon, hosted Cohort III and provided a day of training covering various aspects of the law including an introduction to the civil justice system, employment law, real estate, estate planning, and intellectual property.

The Gordon & Rees team was thrilled to support the transition of these service members to civilian life and excited to see how they will each impact our communities and businesses as they take their military skill and training and refocus it in civilian life.

The NSW community has been serving on the front lines of every major U.S. conflict for more than five decades. USC Trustee William J. McMorrow established the program to help expose participating veteran families to USC degree programs, employment and networking opportunities, and community resources across the country.
