The Gordon & Rees multi-state team presented on the effects of various state statutes upon tolling of the statute of limitations under federal acts such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"), varying approaches to defense of ever-popular Hunstein claims nationally, and the plaintiffs' bar's creative attempts to affix Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA") liability to self-proclaimed non-disputes, along with successful strategies for defense of these claims.
Bakane is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (“CIPP”) and co-chair of the firm’s Cyber, Privacy & Data Security group. She works with publicly traded and smaller companies alike in areas such as complex class action, antitrust, breach of contract, and general commercial litigation with a focus upon consumer class action defense. Barred in California and Illinois, she has experience in federal and state courts across the country, and is a key asset in pre-suit negotiations, litigation, and compliance.
Moon is a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group, as well as Employment Law, Construction Law, Government Regulatory & Administrative Law, Professional Liability and Cannabis, Hemp & CBD practice groups. She is an AV-rated attorney, with more than 20 years of primarily defense litigation, including commercial, construction, employment litigation, and professional liability defense.
Wiesenfeld focuses her practice on civil litigation, from the initial investigatory process, to discovery, motions and appellate practice. Her experience includes clerking for the New Mexico Court of Appeals for the Honorable Roderick T. Kennedy.
Manning is a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She is an experienced litigator, having represented a variety of clients in complex litigation in federal and state courts. Her practice focuses on litigation matters concerning residential and commercial mortgage foreclosure and consumer defense.
