Partner Angela Richie Shares "20 Tips for Better Contracts in Structural Fabrication" in Steel Fabricator Publication

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Louisville Managing Partner and Co-chair of the Construction practice group, Angela Richie was featured in an article, "20 Tips for Better Contracts in Structural Fabrication" published in The FABRICATOR, North America's leading magazine for the metal fabricating and forming industry.

Richie provides 20 tips to improve contracts to help steel fabricators minimize their risk and their need to call counsel. She shares her recommendations for improving contracts and smoother workflow. She employs a phrase "flow down terms" that she recommends evaluating in all contracts upstream and downstream. These tips can apply to contracts for every business relationship. Her advice encourages fair contracts that collectively facilitate a smooth workflow and payments up and down the construction value chain. 

Richie is Managing Partner of the Louisville office of Gordon & Rees and is Co-Chair of the Construction practice group. She frequently consults with steel fabricators and other members of the structural steel industry on issues such as: claims for non-payment; allegations of defective fabrication and erection of structural steel; OSHA violations and related retaliation actions; application of the Buy America(n) statutes and regulations; and contracts between steel fabricators, general contractors, and downstream detailers, structural engineers, and erectors. She is a frequent attendee and presenter at regional steel fabricator association meetings nationwide.
