Sarah Turner to Present on Whistleblower Laws and Public Policy Exemption in Wrongful Termination Claims for Strafford CLE Webinar

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Seattle partner Sarah Turner will serve as a panelist for "Whistleblower Claims: Litigating Wrongful Termination," presented by Strafford via a live 90-minute CLE video webinar with interactive Q&A on Tuesday, February 15, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern.

This CLE webinar will provide employment counsel with an overview of recent decisions brought in wrongful termination and retaliation claims by former employees in Ohio, California, and in various agency actions in Washington, D.C. 

Turner will be presenting on the states’ perspective on whistleblower laws and public policy exemption in wrongful termination claims focusing on recent groundbreaking whistleblower legislation and case law out of New York, California, and Ohio. The panel will guide counsel in developing effective policies and procedures to minimize the risk of OSHA or DOL charges and potential private retaliation litigation and crafting litigation strategies that will increase the likelihood of success when defending against retaliation claims.

Turner is a partner with the Employment and Cannabis practice groups in the Seattle and Portland office of Gordon & Rees. She litigates in state and federal trial and appellate courts. Her practice also includes counseling, training, and representing clients on a broad range of employment law issues, including hiring, review, and termination procedures, workplace investigations, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour law.
