Chicago Partner Avanti Bakane Honored with NAPABA Best Under 40 Award

Chicago Partner Avanti Bakane will be honored with the Best Under 40 award by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association ("NAPABA"). Award recipients will be celebrated at the 2023 NAPABA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 9-12, 2023.   

This award recognizes talented individuals within the Asian American Pacific Islander legal community under the age of 40 who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields and who have demonstrated a strong commitment to Asian American Pacific Islander civic or community affairs. NAPABA is the nation's largest Asian Pacific American membership organization, representing the interests of 60,000 attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students.

Bakane has been a NAPABA member for more than 10 years and has served in multiple leadership roles. Additionally, she co-founded the organization’s Data Security and Privacy Committee. Bakane is also deeply involved with the South Asian Bar Association of Chicago ("SABA"), where she is currently an advisory council member and served as a past president of the organization.

Bakane specializes in complex litigation, including class action defense, antitrust, breach of contract, and general commercial litigation. She co-chairs the firm's Cyber, Privacy & Data Security practice group, representing businesses and professionals in various legal matters related to software development, data privacy, licensing, and copyright infringement.
