Nashville Partner James R. Embrey Jr. has been selected for membership in the International Association of Defense Counsel ("IADC"). Mr. Embrey was nominated for membership by John Nunnally and sponsored by Dale Bay and Andy Pippenger.
The IADC is the preeminent invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests. Founded in 1920, the IADC has members who hail from six continents, 49 countries and territories, and all 50 U.S. states. The core purposes of the IADC are to enhance the development of skills, promote professionalism, and facilitate camaraderie among its members and their clients, as well as the broader civil justice community.
To join the International Association of Defense Counsel, individuals need one U.S.-based member nomination and two sponsors. The Membership Committee reviews nominations, and successful candidates approved by the Board of Directors are invited to join.
Mr. Embrey focuses his litigation practice on medical malpractice, transportation, and general liability actions on both the local and national levels. As a trial lawyer, Mr. Embrey represents numerous Fortune 500 companies, as well as individual professionals. He honed his legal craft while working in-house as Managing Counsel and General Counsel for multi-billion dollar insurance corporations. His clients include physicians, nurses and hospitals, trucking carriers, and insurers, as well as businesses, retailers, and homeowners.
