Fresno Senior Counsel Judith Chavez will be giving a presentation entitled "Harassment Prevention in the Workplace: Don’t be the Next Headline!" at the 2023 American Society of Safety Professionals ("ASSP") Central Valley Safety Symposium in Clovis, California on May 10.
In this presentation, she will discuss different types of workplace harassment and how each type should be handled by companies and employees. She also delves into the consequences of harassment claims for a company and how to update harassment policies, train staff, and implement an internal complaint system.
ASSP is an organization of dedicated members who lead, manage, supervise, research, and consult on safety around the world, continuing education, networking, standards, and advocacy for the profession.
Ms. Chavez focuses her practice on matters relating to labor and employment. She has successfully represented employers before the ALRB, Cal/OSHA, WCAB and the Labor Commissioner throughout California. She also has experience working in various areas of law including, social security disability, workers’ compensation, personal injury, unlawful detainers, criminal law, immigration, juvenile dependency and labor and employment.
