Hartford Partner Glenn Coffin has been elected to serve as President of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association, a not-for-profit, statewide organization of civil defense attorneys that has been in operation since 1991.
An organization consisting exclusively of members of the Connecticut defense counsel community, the mission of the CDLA is to assist its members in becoming better civil defense lawyers. The organization promotes legal education, professional development, collegiality, and networking for the civil defense bar. It also serves as the voice of the civil defense bar to advance the fair administration of justice in civil litigation and is involved in a number of civic and charitable drives. It further seeks improvement of Connecticut law through active participation in the legislative process before the Connecticut State Legislature on issues impacting defense lawyers and their clients.
Mr. Coffin focuses his practice on multi-state and jurisdiction defense of clients in complex litigation including asbestos, toxic tort, product liability, environmental remediation, and personal injury actions. Moreover, he actively engages in the defense of municipal entities and organizations providing Fire and EMS services throughout Connecticut on legal issues and operational best practices.
