Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani's Columbus Energy team, including Partners Gregory D. Brunton, Daniel J. Hyzak, and Bruce A. Moore, obtained a complete defense verdict in an eminent domain matter on behalf of one of the largest natural gas transportation companies in the United States.
The plaintiff, a publicly traded coal company, claimed that the client's pipeline project had damaged its mine. At trial, the coal company demanded $6 million in just compensation for alleged special damages to its coal mine by the client's pipeline. After a long litigation history and a four-day, highly technical trial with multiple experts, the court returned a complete defense verdict.
