  • Biography

    Abigail Kregor is an Associate in GRSM’s Denver office. Her practice focuses on the representation of businesses and individuals in complex civil litigation.  To that end, she regularly handles matters concerning commercial claims and professional liability disputes.  Additionally, she represents insurers in coverage and first-party bad faith actions.  She also has experience in the representation of energy and utility companies in a wide variety of matters. 

    Abigail serves as an Executive Council Member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division. Prior to joining GRSM, Abigail was a law clerk for Denver District Court Judge Morris B. Hoffman. While clerking, she worked on a wide variety of civil litigation cases. During law school, she excelled in her clinical program receiving the CALI Award for Litigation Skills and Outstanding Clinical Student Award. She was also the Senior Comments and Notes Editor for the Tulane Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property.

    Representative Experience

    • Obtained Rule 12(b) dismissal of negligence/breach of fiduciary claim against insurance agents based on the statute of limitations and failure to establish facts for claims for relief.
    • Obtained Rule 12(b) dismissal of negligence and CCPA claim against an insurance agent because the injury occurred outside the relevant insurance policy period and the third party plaintiff failed to allege deceptive trade practice.
    • ​​​​​​​Obtained defense verdict following a ten-day jury trial on claims against a law firm involving allegations of negligent misrepresentation based on an opinion letter delivered in connection with a business transaction with defendant’s client.
    • Obtained a favorable outcome in a legal malpractice claim in a dispute over the former client’s divorce settlement.
    • Obtained a favorable outcome in a legal malpractice claim in a dispute over the former client’s personal injury action.
    • Obtained a defense judgment for a utility company involving personal injury arising from electrical contact. 
    • Obtained defense judgment affirmed on appeal in a dispute over healthcare benefits subject to ERISA.
    • Obtained summary judgment in a legal malpractice claim in a dispute over a former client’s divorce and child support.
    • Successfully resolved multiple actions involving extra-contractual claims and breach of contract claims against insurers.
