    Cecily J. McLeod is Senior Counsel and has a diverse national litigation practice. She handles every phase of litigation from case investigation to litigating bench and jury trials and filing and responding to appeals. She has successfully argued motions and litigated trials in both state and federal court. Cecily has substantive experience in all types of dispute resolution forums including mediation, state, federal and international arbitration, and state, federal, and international litigation.  

    Her employment practice centers on assisting corporate entities with all aspects of employment-related business operations, including the creation and implementation of policies and procedures; training for staff and supervisors; administrative investigations; mediation; litigation; trial; and appeal.  

    In addition to her focus on commercial litigation and employment counseling and litigation, Cecily also has experience in a broad range of legal subject matter including product liability, environmental/toxic tort litigation, and professional liability litigation. Her environmental litigation experience includes defending sanitation services companies and product manufacturers and designers as counsel in the defense of personal injury lawsuits involving products and tort claims and professional negligence lawsuits. She has successfully mediated environmental litigation matters by securing low settlement under settlement parameters and successfully litigated environmental/professional liability litigation by winning several summary judgment motions and multiple appeals to the Georgia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Georgia.

    Cecily formerly served as a Contract Compliance Officer for the City of Atlanta’s Office of Compliance, a position of appointment from the Mayor’s Office. She is a founding member and former Chairwoman of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta Young Leaders. She is a loving wife and mother of a four-year-old boy and a one-year-old boy.

    Representative Experience

    • Represented plaintiff clients in litigation stemming from construction supplier agreements.
    • Counsel employer clients regarding compliance with state and federal laws governing employment issues.
    • Represent defendant clients in federal litigation arising from injuries occurring in or around jobsite buildings and machinery.
    • Advise clients on the procurement of government contracts and the qualification for government set-aside certifications.
    • Represented sports agency in dispute with a former agent employee.
