Risk Management Business Intake Clerk – (1-2 years)

We have an immediate opening for a Risk Management-Business Intake Clerk.  Ideal candidates must have a minimum of two years' experience related to the duties or skills described herein (general research, paralegal, or project assistance experience) or one year direct conflicts experience in a law firm.  A professional demeanor is required, as well as excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with candidates, attorneys, management and staff.  Law firm experience is highly desired.  This is a Full-time position, with flexible options to work a hybrid or onsite schedule.

Responsibilities include:

  • Obtain and organize new matter opening material to ensure that complete information is entered into the new business intake systems.  Respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding the new business intake process or status of their matters.
  • Quality control of data entered in the Law Business Management System, or Quick Create at the New Matter Intake Step.  
  • Execute follow up procedures for missing client/matter information submitted by the billing attorneys.
  • Work with the New Business Intake Committee to insure all required new client information is obtained.  Follow up on any queries the Committee member’s note.
  • Serve as a point of contact for new business intake processing for assigned offices and firm clients.
  • Responsible for matter maintenance, including all updates/revisions to client billing information, verifying rates, attorney percent allocations, conflict waiver, engagement/retainer agreement letters have been completed and that billing guidelines are being followed. 
  • Undertakes all tasks as assigned by Manager(s).

Qualifications include:

  • Proven ability to prioritize and multitask, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high-level work product.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment.
  • Excellent project management skills and relevant experience leading enterprise-wide initiative.
  • Proficiency using on-line research tools and databases such as Lexis, Westlaw, Dun & Bradstreet, Hoovers, Intapp OPEN, Aderant, LegalKey.

Education

College and work-related experience preferred.

Salary Range - $45,000 - $80,000 (depends on experience)
