Construction Litigation Partners Brenda Radmacher and Lisa Cappelluti Present at the WCC Construction Defect Seminar

Brenda Radmacher and Lisa Cappelluti will be featured panelists at the annual West Coast Casualty's (WCC) Construction Defect Seminar on Friday, May 10 in Anaheim, California. Both Radmacher and Cappelluti will be among a group of panelists in presenting one-hour presentations.

At 9:30 a.m., Radmacher's panel will present "Is Design-Build the Panacea for Defects in Construction?" In the last few years, the construction industry has seen the rise in use of integrated delivery systems, technology, and creative use of off-site and modular construction. The group will discuss the impact that the change and increase of the use of design-build and integrated delivery systems combined with changes in technology and the use of modular construction on construction projects and the resultant risk management issues. Panelists joining Radmacher are Kevin Salvagni, HKA; Linda Pretzel, Riverstone Claims; and Melanie Brown, Markel.

At 11:00 a.m., Cappelluti's panel will deliver "Hiding the Ball-Litigating Fraud Issues."  Cappelluti's group will highlight an emerging issue in construction litigation cases focusing on the unique challenges of litigating construction cases with fraud allegations. The panel will be discussing the types of cases where fraud allegations are most likely raised by owners and litigation pitfalls for these cases as well as the best practices for handling them as part of the case strategies.  The panel will also include insurance professionals and insurance coverage counsel who can address the insurance implications of these allegations for these cases. Panelists joining Cappelluti are Jennifer Kalvesttran, Gust Rosenfeld, PLC; Larry Kent, Esq.; Todd Schweitzer, SunPoint Holdings; and Matthew Argue, AMCC.
