    Andres M. Hermosillo is senior counsel in the Denver office of GRSM. Andres has years of insurance defense litigation experience, including handling all phases of personal injury, workers’ compensation, subrogation, construction defect, product liability, premises liability, and wrongful death matters.

    Prior to joining GRSM, Andres specialized in personal injury litigation including experience as a trial attorney specifically catering to insurance carriers. Throughout his career, Andres has assisted his clients in achieving favorable results across all aspects of litigation through jury trials and administrative hearings. Andres has enjoyed developing litigation strategies intended to strengthen his clients’ position through discovery, motions practice and performing accurate risk analyses to achieve the best results possible for his clients. Prior to practicing primarily in litigated matters, Andres served as a staff attorney for the Utah State Courts.

    Recent Examples of Andres’s experience include:

    • Obtained a defense verdict at trial in Larimer County on behalf of Defendant in personal injury action. Plaintiff claimed neck, back, and traumatic brain injuries due to admitted rear end motor vehicle accident and claimed damages in excess of $3.5 million. Plaintiff alleged the need for lifetime radio frequency ablations as well as loss of earning capacity. The court awarded the Defendant attorneys’ fees as prevailing party. (November 2021).
    • Obtained a defense verdict at trial in Denver County on behalf of Defendant in personal injury action. Plaintiff claimed traumatic brain injuries which included the alteration/loss of taste and smell. Plaintiff alleged damages including pain and suffering for cervical, thoracic, and lumbar injuries from an admitted liability rear-end collision. Plaintiff requested policy limits at trial. (October 2019).
    • Obtained a defense verdict at trial in Arapahoe County on behalf of Defendant in personal injury action. Plaintiff claimed shoulder, neck and back injuries sustained in a “parking lot” motor vehicle accident. Defendant was served by way of substituted service and was not present at trial. Defense retained and presented an accident reconstructionist who contested liability. Plaintiff requested policy limits at trial. (November 2019).
    • Obtained a defense verdict at trial in El Paso County on behalf of Defendant insurer in property loss and personal injury action. Defendant successfully argued that Plaintiff failed to meet her burden of proof in regards to liability and causation of her damages. (December 2019).
    • Obtained two defense verdicts at trial in Denver County on behalf of Defendant in personal injury action. Plaintiffs were rear-ended in a low-speed accident while waiting at a red light, and claimed brachial/cervical/thoracic/lumbar injuries, headaches, and lumbar radiculopathy. Plaintiff‘s requested policy limits at trial. (February 2020).
    • Successfully advocated at a number of hearings and obtained orders dismissing multiple workers’ compensation claims/actions before the Colorado Division of Workers Compensation and the Utah Labor Commission. All claims/actions ranged from requests for medical benefits, wage loss, permanent impairment, death benefits, and permanent total disability. (March 2016 - October 2018).
    • Obtained favorable result in a wrongful death action concerning the defense of Defendant and Defendant’s parents through utilization of accident reconstruction experts and obtainment of ECU data from fatal motor vehicle accident. (2021).
    • Obtained favorable result in OSHA proceedings concerning the defense of Defendant, a directional bore driller, through utilization of cause and origin and standard of care experts. (2021).
