Gabriella Scarmato

Gabriella Scarmato is an Associate in the New York office of GRSM and a member of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, professional liability, and general liability matters through all phases of litigation and dispute resolution.

Prior to joining GRSM, she defended insurance litigation matters involving personal injury, construction, breach of contracts, defamation, and products liability.

• Obtained summary judgment on behalf of an excavation contractor, in a lawsuit arising out of a trip and fall incident occurring adjacent to a project where the contractor was working, based upon a theory of an open and obvious condition.
• Obtained summary judgment on behalf of an LLC and owner of a premises in a lawsuit arising out of the Labor Law wherein plaintiff claimed he became injured when he fell off a ladder while dismantling decorations for a wedding.
• Obtained pre-discovery dismissal on behalf of an LLC in a lawsuit in which plaintiff alleged personal injuries, based on lack of ownership.
• Obtained summary judgment on behalf of client, New York socialite, in a lawsuit arising out of defamation.
