    Justin D. Knight is Senior Counsel in the San Francisco office of GRSM and is a member of the Construction and Commercial Litigation practice groups. His construction practice is focused on the representation of material suppliers, architects, engineers, contractors, and developers in both commercial and residential construction related disputes. Justin also represents commercial clients in personal injury and premises liability matters, including defending clients in the hospitality, restaurant, and automotive industries against catastrophic personal injury claims.

    Prior to joining GRSM, Justin worked at a national insurance litigation firm, handling complex construction, personal injury, and premises liability disputes on behalf of commercial clients and their insurance carriers. He also has extensive experience litigating residential association, mixed-use association, and commercial construction defect disputes, commencing in pre-litigation and continuing throughout the life of the matter.

  • Representative Experience
    • Prevailed against a cross-defendant’s Writ of Mandate to the California Second Appellate District, which stemmed from the lower court finding his client’s settlement in a catastrophic personal injury action to have been made in good faith.
    • Argued and prevailed on Motions to Transfer Venue, Demurrers, Motions to Strike, Discovery Motions, Motions to Continue Trial, and other procedural motions before Courts.
    • Deposed and defended key witnesses for both in-person and through virtual depositions in construction and personal injury cases.
    • Defended and prosecuted complex commercial and residential construction defect claims involving commercial projects, mixed-use projects, and California’s SB-800 building standard in large residential developments alleging significant Cost of Repair damages.
