Gordon & Rees Announces New Office Managing Partners

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani has named new Assistant and Co-Managing Partners in nine of the firm's 47 offices nationwide. The new elevations are a part of the firm's nationwide growth and committment to diversity.

California
Christine Barker will serve as the Co-Managing Partner of the firm's Orange County office. Barker is a highly accomplished attorney with significant experience in general and complex matters with an emphasis in construction law. She has counseled owners, general contractors, design professional and subcontractors during all phases of project design and construction.

Kirsten Reyna De Hart will serve as the Assistant Managing Partner of the Carlsbad and San Diego offices. Reyna De Hart focuses her practice on the defense of complex environmental claims, toxic tort and product liability claims. She also counsels clients regarding environmental compliance issues outside the litigation context.  

Long Island and New York City
Virginia Squitieri will serve as Co-Managing Partner of the New York and Long Island offices. Squitieri is a national litigation attorney with broad experience in the defense of asbestos exposure as well as toxic tort and premises cases in state and federal court.

New York
Allyson Avila will serve as  Assistant Managing Partner of the Westchester office. Avila maintains a diverse practice, including medical malpractice and nursing home litigation, premises liability, employment claims, contract disputes and product liability. She counsels and defends a wide spectrum of private, institutional and municipal clients.

North Carolina
Knicole Emanuel will serve as the Co-Assistant Managing Partner of the Raleigh office. For more than 17 years, Emanuel has maintained a litigation practice, concentrating on Medicare and Medicaid litigation, health care regulatory compliance, administrative law and regulatory law.

Robert Shaw will also serve as the Co-Assistant Managing Partner of the Raleigh office. He has extensive tax and healthcare experience, including representation of clients on the buyer side and seller side in mergers and acquisitions, in Medicare and Medicaid audits, tax planning, business transactions, drafting physician agreements, corporate advice, and regulatory compliance. 

Oregon
Julie Bardacke Haddon will serve as the Co-Managing Partner of the Portland office. She defends drug and medical device claims for the firm’s pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing clients, and has amassed extensive experience defending products liability multi-district litigation claims pending in jurisdictions across the United States.  Haddon also has considerable experience in handling construction matters.

Texas
Kirstie Simmerman serves as the Assistant Managing Partner of the Dallas office. Simmerman handles a wide variety of litigation matters for clients across the country at both the state and federal level, including complex commercial disputes, class actions, professional liability, employment law, intellectual property, trucking and transportation and franchising litigation.
