Gordon & Rees Releases Inaugural Concussion Defense Reporter with Partner Tony Corleto as Editor in Chief

July 2021

Gordon & Rees is pleased to announce the release of its inaugural Concussion Defense Reporter, in partnership with Hackney Publications and led by Westchester Partner Tony Corleto.

Concussion Defense Reporter is the one-stop source for news, case summaries, articles, and strategies for the defense of sports concussion lawsuits at all levels of play, professional, collegiate, high school, and amateur. The publication’s goal is not just to inform, but to share solutions.

The inaugural issue features updates on Lystedt-based litigation, a novel constitutional angle on sport concussion claims, preemption as a defense, and updated studies of cognitive function and head impact rates. The issue also shares two upcoming webinars, Human Factors in Sports Concussion on July 28, and Forensic Psychology in Sports Concussion on August 12.

Corleto is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property, and Product & General Liability practice groups. He focuses on commercial litigation, lawyers’ professional liability and sports risk matters. His experience covers intellectual property, corporate, construction, insurance coverage and bad faith, environmental and employment practice liability issues.

As general counsel and lead litigator for a nationwide sport governing body, he advises on strategic matters and leads the defense of high exposure CTE (“Chronic Traumatic Encephalopath”) class action cases. He regularly lectures and leads panel discussions on the medico-legal issues surrounding CTE litigation.
