Gordon Rees Sculy Mansukhani Detroit Managing Partner, John T. Eads III, has been selected to receive the Excellence In Defense Award from the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel ("MDTC").
Established in 1992, the MDTC Excellence in Defense Award is designed to honor those civil defense counsel who have over a number of years through their professionalism, intelligence, creativity, judgment, personality, sensitivity, civility, advocacy skills, community involvement and efforts to educate younger attorneys, promoted the practice of the defense bar and the representation of their clients both in and outside of the courtroom. It also recognizes contributions beyond their normal roles as an advocate.
Mr. Eads will be presented with the award at the MDTC Legal Excellence Awards on Thursday, March 13.
Mr. Eads has defended high-exposure cases for more than 30 years, focusing his practice in medical, accounting and legal malpractice; transportation; product liability and general liability as well as large Michigan no-fault cases. He also handles environmental matters, business and employment disputes, contract actions, E&O liability and municipal/school liability cases. Mr. Eads represents major utilities and national retailers and is eminently qualified to defend and evaluate high-demand injury cases. His clients include insurers, commercial businesses and trucking companies, among others.
In addition, he has handled high-value cases for major sports facilities and an American League baseball team, national sports associations, major manufacturers, various golf courses, carnival companies, and a number of boat facilities, go cart tracks and waterslides.
