National Law Journal Recognizes Debra Ellwood Meppen as 2023 Employment & Discrimination Law Trailblazer

Debra Ellwood Meppen, a distinguished Employment Litigation Partner at Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, has been named to National Law Journal's list of 2023 Employment & Discrimination Law Trailblazers. 

Focusing on the entertainment industry, Ms. Meppen has successfully resolved numerous complex disputes, protecting her clients' interests and reputations. She has earned a formidable reputation as a tenacious negotiator, often referred to as a "dragon slayer," due to her extraordinary ability to resolve seemingly impossible and potentially explosive disputes without resorting to prolonged litigation. As the Chair of Gordon & Rees' National Employment Law Practice Group, she represents both private and public entities, as well as high-profile celebrities, in cases involving discrimination, retaliation, FMLA, wrongful termination, defamation, and harassment claims.

In addition, Ms. Meppen serves as Chair of the firm's Women's Initiative, dedicated to supporting, mentoring, and empowering female attorneys in their leadership and professional growth. She actively contributes to Gordon & Rees' Diversity Committee and serves as a Co-Chair of the firm's Leadership, Equality, and Diversity (LEAD) program, which strategically promotes diversity and inclusion within the organization.
